The Rolex Datejust 1601 is a staple of this prestigious brand. The fluted white gold bezel, 36mm case, Jubilee strap, and Cyclops crystal are all things that satisfy when one envisions a typical Rolex. The ubiquity alone might have deterred me from looking at these models, but one reached out and tugged at my heartstrings. 
For the same reason that wrinkle-free dials don’t usually appeal to me, the same is true of white gold fluted bezels. I know the Rolex Datejust 1601 represents the line, but fluted bezels also often seem erratic and frankly, too “country club” for my tastes. However, in this example, with the dial, polished hands and indexes, the bezel works so well again. Add to that the jewel-like Jubilee strap, and it’s all the more appealing. But alas, there was no deal. I left Eric’s place, but later I texted him because I was so impressed with the watch. I offhandedly mentioned that if the buyer cancels the deal, please keep me in mind. About a week later, the text message came and it was Eric. Shortly thereafter, we struck a deal, but I had to wait to pick it up.
As you can see, the day came and the replica Rolex Datejust 1601 is now firmly in my hands. I performed my normal ritual when I had the unopened package in front of me for the first time in almost two months. As I waited, I thought to myself that I would never be able to repeat the moment when I first saw this watch. Thankfully, when I opened it, the magic I had felt during my brief time with the watch returned. I sized the bracelet by the clasp and tried it on. It was beautiful. Many watches are worth trying, but the vintage Rolex in the Ref. 6251 Folding Jubilee. its comfort simply cannot be matched. Another noteworthy detail is the lovely case, which is in excellent condition.
A watch like this Rolex Datejust 1601 has a lot going for it thanks to the condition of its case, bezel and bracelet. Then, add to that the unusual and incredibly clean dial, which is a desirable package. The result is a watch that, at the time of this writing, has not left my wrist since the first day I owned it. I certainly thought about moving on to another watch, but that didn’t translate into action. So, yes, I really like this lavender dial freak and I’m even happier that the original buyer canceled.
